Computer systems are known to run on operating systems, an operating system like Windows, Linux, Mac, Unix etc. These operating systems are installed on our computer storage (HDD) and they also come in different size capacity.
If you’re the one who feels your computer system is lacking storage and you need to upgrade it to something even higher so has to meet your work requirements which would also require you to reinstall your Windows OS afresh on the new hard disk and other software programs. Doing this could really consume a lot of time.
However, if you do not wish to go through all the steps of installing a new OS and other software programs and you’d prefer to just copy your files to the new hard drive and start working. Then this post is for you. There is actually a method which you could port your Windows OS and all your data on your hard disk to the new hard disk without needing to re-install windows. Follow the step by step guide written in this article and learn about that great method.
How to Transfer Your Windows OS and data to a new Hard Drive Without Reinstalling Windows
Step 1. The first step is to connect both Hard drive to the same computer. This could be easy with the PC, but for the laptops, you need to get some other modules for this. A SATA-to-USB cable would let you connect your new hard drive to the computer without the old HDD removed.
Step 2. You will need EaseUS Todo Backup app for this process. With the app, just backup all the data on your old HDD and somehow place it somewhere else. I recommend this step because while doing the rest of the procedure there is the probability that you end up losing your data.
Step 3. Also, you might need Windows System Repair Disk software too. This isn’t required in the procedure but just in the case of any faults that might arise in your operating system of the computer after cloning then using this disk all that could be solved easily.
Step 4. Now you have to connect the both of the disks to your computer and then run the EaseUS Todo Backup app and then choose the Clone option placed on the top right corner of the software displayed on the screen.
You would then be prompted to select the destination partition if there are any or either clone to the entire disk. Choose the similar options, set up your preferences and then go on by clicking the next button.
Step 5. When you have finished with all your satisfied settings for cloning, start the process by clicking on the Proceed button. Your new disk would be cloned with the same data as well as the same operating system, and after the completion of the process, you would be ready to plug in your new HDD and remove the old one. Just do that and boot up your computer, that’s it.
That’s it, now you’ve successfully transferred your Windows OS and data to a new Hard Drive Without Reinstalling Windows. If you find this article helpful, kindly share.
