There has been an ongoing rumor regarding Samsung launching a foldable phone and now it seems the South Korean tech giant will finally make an announcement of this device this year. According to several leaks, the much anticipated foldable device will be called the Galaxy F and now we have even more reasons to believe its existence.
Samsung Galaxy F Foldable Phone
Speaking of foldable phones, HTC has also launched something quite similar, a squeezable smartphone although it’s not foldable has the rumored Galaxy F.
According to CEO of Samsung’s mobile division, DJ Koh, in a show with CNBC, he said that the company will share details of the foldable Galaxy F later this year at the Samsung Developer Conference in November in San Francisco.
Koh went further and said “it’s time to deliver” as different surveys performed by the company have shown that there’s an interest in such a device among the smartphone enthusiasts. While this seems to be a great idea, it also sounds like a crazy one too and it’s expected to create a new smartphone segment in the market.
At the annual IFA event, Koh also said that every new device should have a reason behind its making. “If the unfolded experience is the same as the tablet, why would they (consumers) buy it?” he added.
However, Koh didn’t share more details regarding Samsung Galaxy F, but what we’re looking out for in this device is how the company intends to make it look different from a folded tablet. it’ll be interesting to see a whole new innovation from the Korean tech giant. Moreover, we’ve seen some devices in the past using hinges to connect two screens, but Samsung is expected to use a flexible display to give an actual foldable experience with Galaxy F.
