Following the controversy between the Chinese giant Huawei and the US which has restricted Huawei from using Google’s product and several other US products, the tech giant has now launched its own app store to rival Google’s PlayStore, it is dubbed “AppGallery”.
Huawei’s AppGallery is an alternative app store to the well-known Google PlayStore and has a robust ecosystem which will allow Huawei smartphone users to download apps on to their smartphones.
Since Huawei can no longer use Google’s Mobile Services (GMS), it AppGallery will require that users install the latest Huawei Mobile Service, an alternative to GMS.
AppGallery is still new but already boast of over 45,000 apps and has over 390 million active users globally. One of the interesting features Huawei has included in its AppGallery is the ability for users to request for apps they can’t find in the AppGallery and get notified once the app has been published on AppGallery.
The Chinese giant is committed to ensuring security and protection on its platform with many layers of security like developer real-name verification and a four-step review process for secure app operation. It also has an age-rating system to protect children from apps that are not suitable for their age.
Huawei’s AppGallery cut across 18 different categories ranging from news, social media, entertainment and more…
How To Get Huawei’s AppGallery?
To get Huawei’s AppGallery on your Huawei smartphone, simply head over to Huawei’s consumer page and download the new app store. Once AppGallery is installed, you’ll get a prompt to install the latest HMS (Huawei Mobile Service) for the app store to work properly.
Non-Huawei users who also wish to install and explore the new AppGallery can also download the new Huawei app store.
I still have one question to ask though.
