In a bid to help students continue learning while the world is busy finding a cure for Covid-19 virus, Search giant Google has launched “Teach From Home,” a temporary hub of information and tools to help teachers and families continue to educate students while they’re home from school.

Teach From Home provides teachers will several tools to communicate with students and have Livestream classes. It also offers tutorials for teachers on how to teach from home using video calls and without video calls and teachers can also communicate with each other and share resources.

Google Teach From Home is still new and will evolve as the search giant gets “feedback from teachers and partners on what’s most helpful” on the platform.

Currently, Teach From Home is only available in English, with downloadable toolkits available in Danish, German, Spanish, French, Italian, and Polish, with additional languages coming soon.

Also, Google will be making use of its video streaming platform YouTube in partnership with Khan Academy to deliver learning resources for parents, teens and kids via its educational hub “[email protected].”

[email protected] is also available currently in English but will soon be available in Korean, French, Japanese, French, Chinese, etc. the channels that are currently mentioned on the resource pages are Discovery Education, Crash Courses, PBS Kids, Cool School, and Sesame Street. But soon more channels will be highlighted too.

Meanwhile, Google announced a $10 million Distance Learning Fund to “support organizations around the globe that help educators access the resources they need to provide high-quality learning opportunities to children, particularly those from underserved communities.” The first million is going to the Khan Academy, with Google volunteers also helping translate existing educator resources.
