MediaTek on Tuesday unveiled two new gaming focused chipset for budget smartphones called MediaTek Helio G35 and Helio G25. The two new gaming Soc are the latest addition into MediaTek’s G-series chipset and brings tons of features to budget phones.
The MediaTek Helio G35 and G25 Soc will bring better gaming experience and performance to budget phones for users who can’t afford mid-range device or premium phones all thanks to MediaTek’s HyperEngine Technology.

MediaTek Helio G35 Chipset
The Helio G35 chip is built on a 12nm process with an octa-core processor (all Cortex-A53 cores which is slightly lower to the Cortex-A55). I guess the Cortex-A53 was to reduce the cost, however, it has a max frequency of 2.3GHz and supports both LPDDR3 and LPDDR4x RAM up to 6GB at 1,600MHz. As for the storage, it supports eMMC 5.1 only.
In the graphic department, there is a PowerVR GE8320 GPU running at 680MHz. The chipset supports Full HD+ display with 2400 x 1080 pixels screen resolution at 20:9 aspect ratio and 60Hz refresh rate.
The G35 also supports up to 25MP for a single camera or it can be used as a dual 13MP camera. The camera features include bokeh, AI-beauty, Electronic Image Stabilization (EIS), Multiframe noise reduction and more
As for connectivity, the Helio G35 comes with integrated 4G LTE modem that supports VoLTE\ViLTE\WoWi-Fi along with Dual-Band Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS + Glonass + Beidou + Galileo, and FM radio.
MediaTek Helio G25 Chipset
The Helio G25 also built on a 12nm process, however, it comes with a lower clock speed. The max frequency is 2.0GHz and that of the GPU is also reduced to 650 MHz. While the G35 supports 1080P+ displays while the G25 Max’s out at 720p+.
Like the G35, the G25 also comes with camera features like Multi-Frame Noise Reduction, Electronic Image Stabilization (EIS) and Rolling Shutter Compensation. It can also render bokeh effects if a depth sensor is present on a device.
The camera capabilities, however, have been lowered to 21MP on the G25 (or dual 13MP+8MP camera). Both chipsets can shoot 1080p videos at 30 fps using the H.264 codec and supports H.265 playback.
The G25 is equal in connectivity with the G35. It also comes with integrated 4G LTE modem that supports VoLTE/ViLTE. The HyperEngine can switch between Wi-Fi and LTE in just 13 milliseconds to maintain a fast, stable connection (that’s important for multiplayer games).
Locally, Wi-Fi 5 (ac) and Bluetooth 5.0 are supported and there’s an FM radio receiver.
