Asus ROG Phone 3 160Hz refresh rate mode

ASUS announced its latest gaming smartphone, the ROG Phone 3 last week and brought tons of impressive new features. The device features the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 865+, up to 16GB of RAM, a 6,000mAh battery, two USB-C ports, and a 144Hz refresh rate display.

The device also brought a display feature that allows users to switch between different refresh rate (between 60Hz, 90Hz, 120Hz, or 144Hz). We all know that the 144Hz refresh rate is the new normal on smartphones but Asus may have already jumped to a 160Hz refresh rate on the ROG Phone 3.

According to a new finding by Mishaal Rahman, an XDA developer, Asus added a hidden 160Hz refresh rate mode on the ROG Phone 3 which can be activated by setting up Android Debug Bridge (ADB) on your PC. Having a 160Hz refresh rate option sounds great but Asus hid this option on the ROG Phone 3 display options. This could only mean the 160Hz refresh rate has not been fully optimized for the device and maybe Asus plans to introduce the feature in future with a software update.
