Vivo 120W Super Flash Charge Technology

I guess 2020 is not all about huge camera pixels and massive displays after all, flash charge technology also seems to be making headlines here and there. With the continuous increase in battery capacity in smartphones, it only makes sense to provide a means to top-up our batteries when they’re running low. Vivo sub-brand iQOO has just unveiled it new 120W super flash charging technology, this is coming after Oppo announced its upcoming 125W superfast charge technology which will be unveiled July 15.

According to the company, the new 120W flash-charge technology can reach 100% battery on a 4,000mAh battery in just 15 minutes. This is twice as fast as current 65W SuperVOOC 2.0 capabilities on Oppo flagship phones.

With fast charging technologies like this, users will be worried about the battery life of there devices, but Vivo seems pretty confident it has everything figured out. Vivo is using a new array design for its fast-charge technology, a 4,000 mAh battery can reach 50% in 5 minutes. The current is converted from 20V at 6A to 10A at 12V, split into two equal circuits at 5A at 12V that charge two 2,000 mAh cells.
