The tech giant Microsoft has announced a couple of new features coming to Windows 10 in the latest Windows 10 Insider Preview Build 20161 that was recently released to the Dev Channel.
The update introduced a refreshed Windows 10 start menu which Microsoft teased a few days ago. The Start menu is a lot cleaner with theme-based tiles and Microsoft has removed colored based tile but currently not for all apps. The feature is still new but we can expect all apps to adopt the new design in coming updates.
The Start menu has now adopt the Windows fluent design which also brings transparent background to the start menu tiles.
Microsoft has also improved its Alt+Tab feature to switch between tabs in the browser for easy navigation between tabs and improve multitasking generally.
❝We’re making this change so you can quickly get back to whatever you were doing—wherever you were doing it,❞ Brandon LeBlanc, Sr. Program Manager, Windows Insider Program said in a blog post.
It is worth noting that the UI change is part of the Dev Channel, meaning it isn’t tied to any upcoming Windows 10 feature update. However, it is possible that the refreshed Start Menu would arrive in the next big Windows 10 updte (20H2) or get postponed to 2021.
