Just last week we saw the launch of iPhone XS, XS Max and iPhone XR from the tech giant Apple with Apple Watch 4 at the Apple Fall Event held in Cupertino. The 2018 iPhones (iPhone X successors) come with an exorbitant price tag. We all know Apple products are money suckers so we shouldn’t be surprised to see a device worth $1200 (US) from the company.
However, the Chinese manufacturer, of course, Xiaomi has decided to mock Apple’s new product by showing the number of Xiaomi products you can buy for the equivalent price of the new 2018 iPhones.
Xiaomi launched new product bundles in China and named it after the new 2018 iPhones. They call it the ‘XR Suit’, ‘XS Suit’, and ‘XS Max Set’.
Interestingly, each of these three product bundles includes a Xiaomi smartphone, a laptop, a fitness band, and audio product. To mock Apple, the price of each bundle has been set equal to the starting price of the iPhone models they are named after.
The XR bundle includes a Xiaomi Mi 8 SE smartphone, a 12.5-inch Mi Notebook Air, Mi Band 3, Mi Bluetooth Mini Headset. XR suit is priced at CNY 6,499 (N 340,020 approx) which is nearly equal to iPhone XR starting price.
The XS bundle offers a Mi MIX 2S smartphone, a 13.3-inch Mi Notebook Air, a Mi Band 3, and Mi Bluetooth Mini Headset. Priced at CNY 8,699 (N 455,189 approx) has the same price as that of iPhone XS 64GB in China.
XS Max Set
The third one is XS Max Set which includes the Mi 8 smartphone, the Mi Notebook Pro laptop, the Mi Band 3, and Mi Bluetooth neckband. This product bundle costs CNY 9,599 (N 502,054 approx) similar to the pricing of iPhone XS Max’s base model in China.
While this seems to be a killer move for Xiaomi in the smartphone market, these products bundles are limited to China alone and we don’t know if Xiaomi has plans of going global with it.
